Joe, originally from Derry, Ireland, has had a unique and illustrious soccer journey. He began his soccer career with Coleraine Football Club in Northern Ireland, gaining recognition as one of the youngest professional players to make his senior debut in the history of the league. His talent led him to tryouts at renowned clubs, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Celtic. He also represented his country at youth level 17 times before being recruited to Harvard University where he was an Academic All-American his senior year.
In his professional life, Joe spent time in the trenches as a coach, earning his A License and winning state, regional and 2 national titles. He also worked in the semi-professional ranks, pre-MLS with the Cape Cod Crusaders, Worcester Wildfire, Boston Bulldogs, and Boston Renegades as a player, marketing director and GM.
Joe co-founded Global Premier Soccer, which grew into one of the world's largest youth soccer clubs boasting more than 25k players across the U.S. He also pioneered the creation of one of the largest youth soccer tournaments in the country, featuring over 1200 teams over Memorial Day in Massachusetts.
Today, Joe serves as the CEO of Global Soccer Alliance, overseeing its affiliated companies, including the International Development Academy, GSA Events, and Global Sports Experiences, all of which specialize in various aspects of the soccer industry. Joe's influence also extends to his role as a partner and founder of XL Sports Consultancy - helping individuals and organizations navigate the political and financial challenges of getting a sports facility business up and running. He also invests in sports entities worldwide and has been instrumental in Surf Soccer’s efforts to grow their brand across the globe.
